What we did
"Hey, what did you guys do this weekend?"
"We worked on the house."
After awhile they stop asking. The response is so predictable.
So, yes we worked on the house today. We cleaned the upstairs so that the work will go smoothly the week that Seb's dad is here. We moved our armoire again, the ONLY PLACE we have for our clothes. Now we'll be living out of suitcases. That's fine because we'll be gone. Tropical vacation? Spa visit? Four star hotel?
Actually, next weekend we're moving out of house for a week into a lakeside chalet . Sounds really romantic, huh? It's really just a mobile home in the local campground by the lake. We're sharing it with Seb's parents who are visiting to see baby S and help on the house. It's Seb's dad who will help him place the second floor support beams which are apparent in the kitchen.

the uninhabited, future upstairs bedroom, and the armoire we had to move...yet again
This is the first time we've ever abandoned our house during a work project, and believe me several times we probably should have! With baby S now in our lives we had to consider him and his little lungs, and of course a potentially screwed up nap schedule, (every parent's worst nightmare). In all of this chaos we have forgotten to think our adorable but sadly neglected cats Mégot and Milly. I'm sure my mother- in-law won't agree to sharing the chalet with them, and they can't stay here with the dust, noise and open doorways. The poor dears will have to be quartered off somewhere, but where? We have no doors in our entire house. ::racking brain trying to think of how to create cat hotel out of scraps of wood:: hmmm, let's see.
Meanwhile, au travail in preparation for the onslaught of progress!
