Hectic!

There's lots going and no time to blog. Hey though it's lots of fun being in the pressure cooker.

This weekend it was Seb's turn to have a meltdown. I've rarely seen him so defeated. He just sat on the sofa for about ten minutes, head in hands and said nothing. It's awful to see someone you love upset like that. I think he's just completely overwhelmed. He recovered and muttered something, then went outside and started tearing out our front porch. Well, if you've seen our front porch you wouldn't be shocked. The whole thing is caving in. It's very scary and makes our house look like its condemened. He needed to change projects I suppose and be outside a little. He's been in this kitchen for waaaay too long. How could I complain. I've always wanted the porch redone!

I'm busy painting and patching. Our beams were placed with concrete and left the walls looking like hell. Besides the fact that Seb and his dad wrote notes on the old walls as if they were a giant whiteboard! "get milk Tuesday...," "buy nails," "ask Chris not to cook steamed food anymore!" etc. So, I set out with a gallon of white semigloss enamel and repainted the kitchen. I plastered over the cement between the beams as best as I could and then painted those sections too. This isn't anything forever but it works for now. It actually looks good if you stand back far enough.

Otherwise we have the old toilet out. We also have the new one installed but unfortunately we're still brushing our teeth in the shower. We haven't got a bathroom sink yet. Coming soon I hope!
