L'exterieur

Seb has been diligently tapping the outside of the house uncovering all of the original stonework in preparation for the local 'boy' who'll be doing the finish work on the facade. As the old concrete falls away we're amazed at how pretty the old wall is. Over the upstair's exterior doorway we've discoved that there is a small arch made of brick with pieces of wood underneath. I find it very charming but Seb isn't sure if he feels the same way. He's pleased with the results overall. He's been getting lots of encouragement from passers-by. "Nice work" and "Wow!" We've met more neighbors this week than we've ever met in our whole time here.

We're a bit nuts to be doing the outside of our house when we don't even have a proper bathroom in our house. I think it's just the need to escape a bit and rediscover the outside world. Breathe. Ironically we call working on the exterior of the house "escaping."

I always jump from project to project. Maybe that's why I haven't finished anything yet.

Derek I suppose we'll look up one day and the house will be finished. We won't even have realized it because we'll have jumped around so much, but lo and behold the old girl will have a new face.

It looks very nice- like it's been there for a long time ( a good thing).
