Heat gun romance

We are busy, busy bees traveling lately in preparation for trying to make some potentially life altering decisions. There's a BIG PLAN afoot and it's temporarily disrupted our lives, so the work on the house has really suffered. More on that as things unfold. The news definitely affects the house and our lives. Lots of scary/exciting stuff that may or may not ever even manifest but MIGHT. It all has to do with Seb and his career. You can tell there's a cloud of confusion surrounding the situation.
I've been working on the front windows that face the street. I've been chipping away at that paint, revealing the lovely, old stone beneath. We love these windows. This is the reason we bought the house. Here's the work as viewed at the end of the week. Almost finished! I still have the doorway and another window to do but it's going surprisingly fast.

My technique is a combination of a chisel/hammer and heat gun. Sometimes the heat gun works better and sometimes the chisel is what you need for undersided spots. I've got a heat gun addiction. I'll admit it. That thing rocks!
Meanwhile Seb is cranking away upstairs whenever possible. He's doing more reinforcement work for the upstairs bathroom floor and he's running plumbing lines. Slow going and not very picture worthy.
It feels like we'll never get the bathroom finished. Boo-hoo! Our shower is still outdoors in the PIT. We took the door off the cabin with the hopes to at least put a proper door on the shower room so we could close it and heat it. We also bought a snazzy glass shower door that we thought we could use in the PIT and then transfer upstairs later when we permanently eliminate the PIT. Warning: never prop glass shower door in front of balcony shutters that you open every morning. Enough said. We lost 150 euros in about 10 seconds! Stupidity is expensive. Meanwhile the PIT is worse and worse. I'd post pictures but people would think it was all a joke. Maybe I will post pictures so someone will come and rescue us from our misery because they feel sorry for us!

I'm a heat gun addict myself! The window looks great. We are stalled out on our renovations. The biggest deal at this point is getting the rest of the hardwood flooring in. Kind of hard to run the compressor and floor stapler with a baby around. How DO you manage it? Can't wait to hear about the changes that may be afoot.
Wow, 150 euros was an expensive lesson to learn. Feels nice to read about your travails. I am in the process of redoing my house and am scouting for whatever tips I can find.
