The painted mailbox

When I started stenciling my mailbox I thought my neighbors were going to go blind from straining their eyes through half parted curtains. "What is she doing!" "I have no idea, must be some American thing!" My neighbor Marcel kept commenting to my husband that I'd probably gone mad.

The truth is I hate the fact that french mailboxes are all green. I've always wanted to paint my mailbox. When I ruined the finish on ours washing it with a powerful soap, I used this as an excuse to "fix the finish" and spruce it up.
